	January 16, Chairman of the Board of the group and President Feng Gang met with Joseph Randall, the visiting President and CEO of JAZZ, the largest regional airline in Canada. The two sides shared their experience on regional airline operation. The company General Manager Zeng Guoqiang, Vice General Manager Bai Weisan and Chief Accountant Xiao Feng also participated in the meeting.
	January 27, in the afternoon, provincial Party Secretary and provincial People’s Congress Chairman Li Jianguo met with Party Secretary of Air China Group Kong Dong and the others. Li Jianguo expressed deep appreciation to Air China Group for its continuous support to Shandong aviation industry over the years. Li said, with the rapid development of the economy and society, Shandong aviation industry is at a crucial time for its development. Shandong is an important province in the east coast China with potential for huge growth in the aviation industry. We need to develop in a scientific, harmonious and effective manner across the province and make significant strides in the aviation industry. Air China Group is a solid company with strong growth. The cooperation between Shandong province and Air China Group is smooth and effective. We hope to see more cooperation to promote a healthy growth of the Shandong aviation industry. Kong Dong said, Air China Group will utilize its advantage in help developing the Shandong aviation industry and make more contributions to the economy and society. Provincial Party Committee member and Secretary Wang Min, Vice-Governor Guo Zhaoxin, Chairman of the Board and President of Shandong Aviation Group Feng Gang and Party Committee Secretary Zhang Xingfu also participated in the meeting.
	January 28, Shandong Aviation Group held its 2008 work conference and the third session of the 2nd worker’s congress. Party Secretary of Air China Group Kong Dong and Vice-Governor Guo Zhaoxin both attended the conference and gave a speech. Air China Party Secretary Tan Zhihong, deputy provincial government Secretary General Zhang Chuanting, provincial SASAC deputy Party Secretary Pei Jianhua, Shandong Economic Development Investment Corporation, General Manager Jiang Yanwei also attended the meeting upon invitation. Chairman of the Board and President of Shandong Aviation Group Feng Gang, Party Committee Secretary Zhang Xingfu, Vice-President Zeng Guoqiang, deputy Party Secretary Wang Kaixun, the executives and the employees and cadres from each department also participated in the conference and worker’s congress. The conference and worker’s congress is aimed to carry out the following tasks: Guided by the scientific development outlook, review the work completed in 2007, analyze the current situation and arrange the work for 2008. Call for employees and cadres to rise to the challenge and occasion and endeavor to open up a new prospect for Shandong Airlines scientific development.
	February 29, 8:50 AM, the Flight SC115 of Shandong Airlines landed at Beijing’s colossal new airport terminal 3, becoming the first commercial service to land at the new airport terminal.
	April 8, the issuance of the CCAR147 maintenance training organization certificate and the opening ceremony for the Shandong Airlines Maintenance Training Center were conducted and held in the training center in Qingdao. CAAC Eastern China Department deputy chief Guo Youhu, continuous airworthiness section Vice Section Chief Wu Jizhao, officials from Shandong regulatory agencies and Qingdao safety operation supervising office, and Director Zeng and Director Yu from our company management attended the ceremony and the meeting afterwards. The meeting was chaired by Shandong regulatory agency deputy Director Li Ping. Shandong regulatory agency flight standards and airworthiness Section Chief Shao Haifeng briefly introduced the certification of the 147 maintenance training center. With cheerful music in the background, Chief Guo issued the “maintenance training organization certificate” to our Director Zeng and officially opened the maintenance training center with him.
	April 9, deputy Party Secretary of Shandong Aviation Group Wang Kaixun, Labor Union Chairman Song Hongqi led the officers in the administration department to the Qixin primary school located in Daozhen autonomous county, Zunyi municipality. The team brought with them RMB200,000 donated by Shandong Aviation Group, its cadres and employees for the construction of school buildings. The severe snow storm in southern China before the Chinese new year holiday caused great economic losses. Shandong Airlines was quick to act after the snowstorm. Shandong Airlines uses its airline advantage to transport relief supplies. Shandong Airlines also called for a helping hand from all the cadres to support the construction of the devastated area. Education is the cornerstone of national rejuvenation. Shandong Airlines chose the Qixin Primary School in Daozhen autonomous county as our recipient in the sacred place of revolution, Zunyi. Due to lack of funding for maintenance and repairs, Qixin primary school is in a dangerous condition. The school was also short in teaching facilities. Donations from Shandong Airline greatly improved the learning environment of Qixin Primary school and met the pressing need for school funding.
	April 11, 11th National Games Organizing Committee and Shandong Aviation Group entered into a partnership agreement, making Shandong Aviation Group the official airline sponsor and partner for the 11th National Games in 2009. Vice-Governor and the Organizing Committee Vice Director Huang Sheng attended the signing ceremony and gave a warm speech. Shandong Aviation Group is the only airline in the province to have opened routes both within and outside the province. Currently, we are making preparations to provide the best services to the 11th National Games. In October, Shandong Airlines will paint a “National Games” aircraft to display Shandong Image and distribute National Games spirit.
	April 29, the school opening ceremony for students trained by Shandong Airlines for CCAR-147 department maintenance and repairs section was held in the Civil Aviation Flight University of China. The Principle of Civil Aviation Flight University of China Zheng Xiaoyong, the China Civil Aviation maintenance and repairs personnel licensing and exam center Director Ren Renliang, the Civil Aviation Flight University of China CCAR-147 department training organization manager and Vice Principle Wu Xuyong, students entrusted to Shandong Airlines, teachers and students from the Flight University, totally 300 or above, attended the opening ceremony. Company Vice President Yu Haitian attended the ceremony and gave a warm speech. The Civil Aviation Flight University of China and Shandong Aviation Group recruited the first batch of CCAR-147 students together and were the first to provide professional training jointly by university and corporation under the CCAR-147 framework. The commencement of the education program between the Shandong Airlines and the Flight School marked the launch of the pilot program to train maintenance and repairs personnel under the CCAR-147 framework and with the co-operation between an airlines company and a full time university.
	May 12, 14:28pm, an earthquake measuring 8 rocked Sichuan Wenchuan. Aftershock was felt in more than 20 provinces and regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Gansu, Shanxin, Hong Kong and Taiwan. May 12, Shandong Airlines promptly initiated an emergency plan and program to carry out the disaster relief work. Shandong Airlines will make every effort possible to support the quake stricken area. Shandong Airlines will make the disaster relief as its top priority and provide aide to Sichuan at all expenses.
	May 19, Governor Jiang Daming, Vice Governor Wang Suilian visited Shandong Airlines to inspect the disaster relief work. Chairman of the Board of the Group and President Feng Gang reported the progress we have made in helping the quake stricken area. Jiang Daming expressed the sincere appreciation on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial government to all the cadres and employees of Shandong Airlines who are working tirelessly on their posts. He said, Shandong Airlines acted quickly to provincial government’s instructions and provided high quality services for each and every transport. It is a strong support to the successful implementation of the disaster relief work. Our cadres and employees worked hard and made significant contributions to the disaster relief work. Jiang Daming also inspected Shandong Airlines Disaster Relief Headquarter, even went to the ramp to provide on site guidance about the transport of relief goods.
	June 2, the Fifth World Brand Summit in 2008 sponsored by World Brand Laboratory and World Manager magazine was held in Beijing. The “Top 500 Most Valuable Brands in China” in 2008 was announced at the summit. Shandong Airlines was ranked the 180th place with a valuation of over RMB4.176 billion. It was ranked the 8th place among the 27 brands from Shandong listed.
	World Brand Laboratory employs a scientific valuation technique based on the analysis of finance, customers and brands to evaluate the Chinese brands for the fifth time. And the top 500 most valuable brand names in China in 2008 from 28 different industries such as food and beverage, media, textile and clothing, information technology, home appliances and electronics, automobile and energy can be found in the list.
	June 6, Shandong Airlines Aviation Department received a commendation from China Labor Union General for the relief work it provided. Right after the “5.12” earthquake and faced with the sudden natural disaster, Shandong Airlines placed the disaster relief and precious life as a top priority, performed indispensable functions in transporting relief goods and saving people’s lives. During this battle with the natural disaster, all the members from the Aviation Department were not deterred by tires and had always been keeping a cheerful spirit in completing all the tasks assigned by the supervisors within the shortest span possible.
	June 9, an installation commenced in the Shandong Airlines Training Center for the B737NG simulation aircraft jointly run by Shandong Airlines and Air China Airlines. The simulation plane was purchased by Air China and further entrusted to Shandong Airlines for operation. The new simulation aircraft has expanded the company simulation aircrafts collection and saved training costs for the company. It provides more guarantee to the pilot’s training and promotes the healthy development of the Shandong Airlines pilot team.
	June 20, Provincial Party Secretary Jiang Yikang and the others went to the quake stricken zone with a Shandong Airlines chartered flight to inspect the rebuilding of Beichuan area. Provincial Party Committee member and Secretary Wang Min, as well as Vice-Governor Guo Zhaoxin were also in the group. The Director of the Board of the Shandong Aviation Group and President Feng Gang accompanied the group. Jiang said, Shandong Airlines made all the efforts possible to adjust the transport capacity and complete all charter flight assignments seamlessly. The regular flight from Shandong to Mianyang was opened immediately. A relief team was set up at Mianyang which has contributed significantly in carrying out the relief work.
	July 20, Shandong Aviation Group held the semi-annual work conference for 2008 in the conference room on the 7th floor in Shandong Airlines Building. Chairman of the board of the group and President Feng Gang, Party Committee Secretary Zhang Xingfu, Vice President Zeng Guoqiang, Party Committee Vice Secretary Wang Kaixun and other officers from the company attended the conference. Cadre and employee representative totaling some 200 people also attended the conference. Qingdao and Yantai branches were connected through video conference facility. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Xingfu. The main agenda of the conference is to use the scientific development outlook as a guiding principle, implement the work spirit from the CAAC semi-annual work conference, review the work of the past half year and recognize the severe situation we are facing, actively take responding measures and arrange the major work for the coming half year. We need to cheer up everyone and instill confidence in us; we are not scared by difficulties and will endeavor to reach the annual targeted performance. Feng Gang gave a work report titled “Welcome New Challenges, Win New Victories, Carry forward the Spirit for the Disaster Relief and Achieve the Set Goal”.
	July 19, the first charter passenger flight operated by Shandong Airlines between Jinan and Xinxie successfully completed its maiden fight. Meanwhile, the department carried out a certification flight in accordance with regulations from CCAR121 department.
	July 31, party secretary of Air China Group Wang Yinxiang came to Shandong Airlines and provided inspection and guidance to Shandong Airline’s Olympic services and Party building work. Wang Yinxiang acknowledged all the efforts we have made and the results shown. Wang remarked on the efforts Shandong Airlines and Air China in consolidating resources and forming strategic partnership and expressed a few hopes for the development of Shandong Airlines.
	August 2, Shandong Airlines flight B-5351 Boeing 737-85N flew from Seattle USA to Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. It is Shandong Airlines’ first aircraft with color drawings and is called “Hospitable Shandong”.
	August 5, business airplane flight B-3636 flew from Shandong Penglai Airport base to Qingdao Cangkou Airport to provide safety and emergency services for the Olympic Games sailing events. As the only air force responsible for the safety and emergency services in the ocean for the sailing events, B-3636 will cruise, monitor oil leakage using aviation remote sensor and standby for any emergency services.
	August 22, ground service department priority check-in team arrived at the departure and arrival center in the Olympic village in Qingdao to provide priority check-in services for all the athletes. We used careful, seamless and friendly services to display our spirits and build up our corporate image.
	September 1, Shandong Airlines and Shandong Tourism Department came up with the first aircraft with colorful drawings named after a travel image in China – “Hospitable Shandong”. It launched its flight in Jinan. An activity called “city travel month” will be conducted in the cabin and each month a tourist’ city will be introduced in detail. We will start with Jinan in the first month. From September 1 to September 30, passengers in Hospitable Shandong will experience brand new customer services and enjoy the layout reflecting Shandong traditional features. Short video clips “Tell You about Jinan by Dashan” and “Travelling in Jinan” will be shown. Typical Shandong food will be provided. Passengers may also participate in lucky draws and may win souvenir and free maps of cities in Shandong.
	September 10, a meeting commending the disaster relief model units and model individuals was held in Nanjiao Hotel in Shandong. Shandong Airlines was commended as the “Shandong disaster relief model unit”. Group Party committee Secretary and Director of the Board of the company Zhang Xingfu attended the meeting and accepted the commendation medal. Shandong Airlines marketing committee Jinan sales department deputy manager Shi Xiaojun was commended as the model individual. Immediately after the 5.12 earthquake, Shandong Airlines was quick to act. A disaster relief headquarter spearheaded by the management was soon established to provide relief support in accordance with the requirements from Shandong government and CAAC. The party member cadres teamed together and went all out to provide supports. IN total, we have provided 96 disaster relief flights, transported 2,424 passengers affected by the passengers, transported 453 tons of relief goods. In addition, Shandong Airlines opened the Jinan-Mianyang and Qingdao-Mianyang regular flights immediately to help the disaster relief and home rebuilding work. Shandong Airlines 24 hour customer service hotline 96777 voluntarily took over some workload from provincial red cross and provided relevant consulting services. Shandong Airlines also held an “Air Ticket with Love” charity sale and sent all the proceeds to the people in the devastated area. All employees, party members and youth league members actively contributed “special party fees” and “special league fees” to the devastated area. Over 2.611 million RMB of donation was raised and sent to the devastated area.
	September 18, on a flight from Beijing to Jinan operated by Shandong Airlines, Niger Prime Minister Seyni Oumarou signed on our VIP book, took pictures with the crew members and thanked Shandong Airlines for our premium services.
	September 26, the opening ceremony for the B737-800 simulation aircraft jointly run by Shandong Airlines and Air China is held in the Shandong Airlines Training Centre in Qingdao. Air China President assistant Chen Xibing, Shandong Airlines Vice President Zeng Guoqiang and other cadres and members from CAAC certification group attended the ceremony. B737-800 is the main aircraft used by us. With its operation, training cost will be greatly saved and quality improved. It provides convenience for the co-ordination between pilot training and real operation, thus ensuring the pilot’s training practice.
	October 23, CAAC holds a meeting commending and summarizing the air transportation during the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympics Games. Shandong Airlines was commended the “advanced unit for ensuring the air transportation during the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympics Games”. Dispatcher Zhang Lei was commended the “advanced individual for ensuring the air transportation during Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympics Games”. During the Olympic, Shandong Airlines placed the Olympic Games and Paralympics Games as a top priority in completing all the air transportation tasks. During the Games, all the cadres and employees teamed together to ensure all Olympic flights in a smooth operation and provided the best services to the Games. We have earned accolade and praises from athletes and CAAC for our contributions to the Games.
	October 29, the department signed the “Shandong Airlines Operation Codes”, approved the application of transporting dangerous goods at 10 airports in Jinan, Yantai, Beijing, Xiamen etc. Thus, the supplementary review for dangerous goods air transportation has been completed successfully. The company will submit new applications for other airports if the business need arises.
	December 26, Shandong Airlines “Hospitable Shandong” Boeing 737-800 aircraft with color drawings took off at Qingdao Liuting International Airport at 15:00, and at 17:04, the aircraft arrived at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. At 18:41, the first batch of passengers from Taipei to Qingdao boarded the “Hospitable Shandong” and took off at Taipei, and at 20:45, the passengers arrived at Qingdao. The Shandong Airlines Qingdao-Taipei regular chartered flight was a complete success. Relevant cadres from Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Customs General, National Tourism Administration of PRC, Exit & Entry Administration Department of the Ministry of Public Security of PRC, Civil Aviation Department, Shandong People’s Government, CAAC Eastern China Department and Qingdao Municipality attended the ceremony for the opening of the Qingdao-Taipei direct charter flight at the international departure hall in Qingdao Liuchang International Airport terminal. The honorable guest cadres cut the ribbons for the first flight and gave a warm send-off to the passengers and crew member on the first flight to Taipei. At 20:45, cadres held another ceremony cordially welcoming the Taiwan passengers arriving Qingdao on the direct flight.
	December 31, Chairman of the board of the group and President Feng Gang, group Party Committee Secretary Zhang Xingfu, Vice President Zeng Guoqiang, Song Yuxia and other cadres, together with representatives from relevant departments, conducted a welcome ceremony for the flight crew landed on Jinan Airport that day. The company management, cadres and employees celebrated for having logged a safe 2008.
