• Shandong Aviation Group Co., Ltd. is a conglomerate specialized in air transport and related industries. Created by investment from 10 shareholders including Air China Limited and the Economic Development and Investment Corporation of Shandong Province, it was established on the 12th March 1994 under the authorization of the State General Administration of Civil Administration and the Shandong Provincial Committee and Government. The company is headquartered in Jinan. 

    The various divisions of Shandong Aviation Group are linked by equity.  The group has formed an upstream/downstream integrated development and operations model primarily led by air transport, but also including services such as aircraft maintenance, training for the airline industry, hotels and travel, and advertising. This has been achieved with the support of subsidiaries and branches including controlling shareholder Shandong Airlines Co., Ltd., Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co., Ltd., Shandong International Aircraft Training Co., Ltd. , Shandong Airlines Xiangyu Technology Service Limited, Shandong Air Advertising Co., Ltd., and the Red Crowned Crane Hotel.



    Controlling shareholder Shandong Airlines constitutes the core business of Shandong Aviation Group. Shandong Airlines is listed with B-shares on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and its primary field of operations is air transport. Over the last 18 years, Shandong Airlines has always given priority to the principles of ‘guaranteeing safety, demanding efficiency, demanding punctuality, and outstanding service’. Until June2013,Shandong Airlines has owned 68aircrafts including various types such as the Boeing B737 Series,CRJ Series and so on. By the end of the Twelfth Five Year Plan, this number will have risen to 100 aircraft - making Shandong Airlines a major airline. The company currently operates more than 110 air routes, and every week there are more than 2000 flights to major cities in over 60 countries. Flights have also been opened to regions such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, and there are international flights to Korea and Japan.  Shandong has set up flight bases in areas such as Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Xiamen, Beijing, Kunming and Chongqing to create a flight network that covers the whole of China.
     
    Shandong Aviation Group has kept continual flight safety records for the last 18 years, and has been awarded the ‘Golden Goose Cup’ and ‘Golden Eagle Cup’ by the Civil Aviation Administration a total of 4 times for its impeccable track record on safety. In 2010 the airline successfully completed its millionth hour of incident-free flight, earning it the ‘Flight Safety Star Award’ of China’s aviation industry. It has been recognized as a national-level ‘Customer Service Satisfaction Unit’ and ‘National Quality and Efficiency Enterprise’ multiple times, and its Rainbow Flight Crew, marketing department and Jinan service department have been acclaimed by the China Youth League Central Committee and Civil Aviation Administration as a leading example for young people around the country.
     
    Shandong Aviation Group places a high premium on building its own brand, and has made this the foundation of its aim to provide the best service in the industry. Since 2005 the punctuality of its flights has been one of the highest among civilian airlines, and it has been recognised as one of ‘China’s 500 Most Valuable Brands’ for many years in a row. As the official airline of the 11th National Games, Shandong Aviation Group provided an outstanding service for the event; in 2012, furthermore, it will also become the official airline of the 3rd Asian Beach Games in Haiyang, Shandong - for which it will provide a strong guarantee of quality flight services.
     
    Shandong Aviation Group actively fulfils its responsibility to society. Its contribution to earthquake relief, help in guaranteeing the success of the Olympics, and the multiple times that it has comprehensively completed difficult and dangerous air transport security tasks earned it the accolade of ‘Shandong Province Earthquake Relief Heroic Collective’ from the Shandong Province People’s Government. Shandong Air Freight flight crew were recognized as ‘Pioneer Workers’ by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions for their contribution to earthquake relief and helping to rebuild people’s homes. In addition, the Shandong Air Freight Qingdao Branch was praised as an ‘Advanced Collective in Guaranteeing Successful Air Transport During the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.’
     
    In recent years Shandong Aviation Group has actively responded to competition and challenges in the market, accelerating the pace of structural readjustment and actively implementing internal reforms.  Particularly since achieving strategic cooperation with Air China, its profit levels have gradually increased, and it has attained its seventh successive profitable year since 2006.
