Instructions for Freight Consignment

 

I. Requirements for Freight Consignment
1. The shipper shall fill out the freight consignment form against his identity card or other effective identity certificates and handle the freight consignment procedures to the carrier or its agent;

2. The goods consigned to be transported shall be in compliance with the laws of China and no hazardous articles will be transported by Shandong Airlines Co., Ltd.;
3. The goods restricted by the government in being transported or for which the procedures are required to be handled to the relevant governmental departments in charge of public security and inspection etc. shall be accompanied with the effective certificates;
4. The packing of goods shall be suitable to the requirements of air transport; and
5. The goods shall not do damage to the aircraft and safety of the people and property and also will not cause any trouble to the passengers.

II. Packing of Goods
1. The goods shall be guaranteed to be packaged in the way that it will not be damaged or lost, leak or pollute the equipment in aircraft or other articles;
2. The shipper shall well package the goods with suitable internal and external package materials and in correct packing way in accordance with the nature and weight of the goods, the transportation environment conditions and the carrier’s requirement. The goods that are precise, fragile or cannot be vibrated or pressed or turned over shall be packaged with the suitable damage preventive packaging measures and are strictly prohibited from being packaged with the straw sack or straw rope; and
3. No article prohibited from or restricted in being transported, dangerous article, valuable article or confidential document or material shall be enclosed in the package of the goods.
III. Transport Symbol, Mark and Label
1. The shipper shall indicate the departure airport, arrival airport, shipper’s name, consignee’s company, name and detailed address etc. on each package of goods;
2. The shipper shall paste the air transport indication mark to the external package of the goods based on the goods’ nature and in the style stipulated in the national standard;
3. The shipper shall remove the old mark on the packages if they have been used; and 4. The shipper shall paste or hang the goods transport label of the carrier as required for each piece of good consigned to be transported.
IV. Weight and Volume of Goods
1. Gross weight shall be calculated as the gross weight of the goods with the unit kg. The decimal part of the weight less than 1 kg will be rounded off. The freight of the valuables will charged according to the actual gross weight with the unit 0.1 kg;
2. To be carried by the CRJ type aircrafts, the single piece of goods shall not weigh more than 60kg, while by the 737 type aircrafts, shall not weigh more than 80kg. The overweighed goods failed to meet the requirement with no plate applied will be rejected to be transported. The sum of the length, width and height of the goods shall be no less than 40cm, otherwise, they shall be packaged to meet this requirement before being transported;
3. The goods has a measurement over 6,000 cm³ per kg are the light goods, the weight of which will be calculated as 1 kg per 6,000 cm³.


Instructions for Consignee


1. The goods will be kept free of charge for 3 days after the issue of arrival notice and, if they are not picked up in time, will be charged certain keeping fee per day;
2. The land freight for the carriage from the downtown area to the airport will be subject to the price published;
3. Where the consignee’s company is indicated in the above notice, the consignee is required to pick up the goods against the goods picking up certificate issued by the company consistent with the one in the notice with the company name and consignee’s name stated and, besides this, his identity card; 4. If the consignee assigns other one to pick up the goods for him, he shall, other than the above provisions, bring forth his identity card.
